Differences in Functional Abilities in Judo Players of Different Age
Abstract:
Judo is an explosive sport which demands high level of anaerobic capacity, due to frequent high intensity efforts, but also good developed aerobic endurance because of efficient process of the recovery between fights.
The aim of this work is to establish differences in functional abilities of the judo fighters or different age, during preparation period.
The sample is consisted of 60 judo fighters (30 cadets and 30 juniors). The parameters of the anaerobic capacity (maximal and average strength) were measured by Vintgeit test, and aerobic endurance was measured by hand bike ergometer.
The analysis of the given results showed that juniors have statistically better values of parameters relative maximal strength and relative average strength. However, cadets have better values in parameters maximal usage of the oxygen and aerobic endurance.
The given results show the necessity of increasing volume of aerobic trainings with juniors in order to increase the endurance which is necessary for tournament type or competition.
